SALEM - Howard J. Ball 87, of Salem, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Essex of Salem I, following a long illness.
Born Jan. 30, 1926, in Salem, he was the son of the late Ralph G. and Ellen E. (Howell) Ball.
Mr. Ball was a retired molder from the former Pittsburgh Foundry and a member of the Salem First Baptist Church. He served in the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Aseneth May Erhardt Ball.
Survivors include a brother, Jerry Ball of North Carolina.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem. The Rev. Claye Folger of the church will officiate.
The Salem Honor Guard will perform full military honors.
A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
