October 29, 2013
Salem News

- The fire department was called to the county Jail twice in less than four hours on Saturday morning. The first fire alarm went off about 5:30 a.m. when an inmate vandalized a sprinkler head, activating the sprinkler system and automatically notifying the fire department. The second alarm occurred at 8:51 a.m. when the repairman forgot to deactivate the alarm when taking the sprinkler system off line to make repairs.
