LISBON - Mildred I. (Midge) Hiscox, 101, formerly of Lisbon died Monday at Blossom Hill Care Center in Huntsburg Township, Geauga County, with her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter at her side. She had been a resident of the nursing for two months.
She was born June 18, 1912 in Salineville to Watson and Kate (Dunbar) Bettis . She attended the Salineville Schools. After her marriage she moved to Lisbon and remained there until 2006 when she relocated to Geauga County to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
She was a homemaker except for a brief time during WWII when she worked at R. Thomas Pottery. Later in life she was a matron at the Columbiana County Home while her husband was superintendent.
She is survived by her son Jack (Dorothy) of Middlefield; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren and a great-great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Hiscox, son William T. Hiscox and daughter Kathy Bush.
The funeral officiated by the Rev. Pam Gable will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home. Calling hours are two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
