Salem News

LISBON - Miranda L. Smith, 35, Lang Street, East Liverpool, was served a secret indictment for charges of theft, tampering with a coin machine and tampering with evidence. According to court documents, on Sept. 23, Smith took coins and currency from a change machine at the East End Wash N Dry owned by Luanne Shilling and impaired the machine making it difficult to investigate the crime.

Dana Thornton, 49, Johnson Place, Wellsville, was served a secret indictment for four counts of failing to support dependents. According to court documents, between Dec. 1, 2007 and now, Thornton has continually failed to provide court ordered support for four people, who are now ages 31, 27, 19 and 18.

Both indictments were issued by the Columbiana County grand jury in October.
