West Point Lions accept new member

WEST POINT - President Pat Tressler welcomed 26 members and two guests, District 13 Governor Tom Zickefoose and his wife, Marian, to the West Point Lions Club meeting on Oct. 21. The invocation was given by Veronica Wolski. He installed Sandra Galle as a new member. Pat Klein was her sponsor. Zickefoose stated that the theme for district convention will be "Jimmy Buffett." Jane May advised that she sent get-well cards to four women.

Arla Ehrhart stated that the cookie dough may be picked up from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 12. Casey Bailes said that the nuts and candy will be in at the next meeting. Rhonda Farmer reported that she has a club visitation scheduled with the Wellsville Lions Club at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Road House. Pat Tressler advised that everything is ordered for Charter Night, decorations, programs, napkins, etc. Dolly Campbell advised that she purchased the clothes for the children and took them to the West Point School. A thank-you note will be sent to Doug Smith for providing the float for the Johnny Appleseed Festival parade. Violet Mellon won the 50/50 drawing and donated it back to the club.

The Christmas Brasstacular will be held on Dec. 11. The winter retreat is slated Jan. 17-19 at Deer Creek.
