SALEM - Margaret (Peg) Quinn Bissell, 92, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at her home.
Peg was born Aug. 5, 1921 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Cavanaugh) Quinn.
Peg was a graduate of the Stella Niagra Seminary for Women in Lewiston, New York. While living in Buffalo, Peg was secretary to the colonel's office in the Army Corps of Engineers.
In 1961, Peg and her husband Tracy moved to Salem. Peg was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church. She served as a volunteer for the Buffalo American Red Cross, the Salem Community Hospital Auxiliary, and in the office of St. Paul School.
She was preceded in death on March 3, 1979 by her husband, Tracy W. II, whom she married March 4, 1944. One brother, Thomas Quinn, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Tracy W. (Gwen) Bissell III of Salem; a daughter, Christine (John) Berlin of Salem; four grandchildren, Amy Hochadel of Salem, Josh (Liz) Ludwig of Akron, John Paul and Peter Berlin of Salem; and four great-grandchildren, Mason and Blake Hochadel, Leo and Ruby Ludwig; and many nieces and nephews.
Peg is also survived by her sister-in-law Suzanne Lowry Cain of Salem.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends following the mass at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
