SALEM - William J. Vaughn, 86, of Salem, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
He was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Salem, the son of the late Damon and Laura (Naylor) Vaughn.
Mr. Vaughn had been employed by the Hunt Valve Company as an assembler for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Salem, Salem Elks Lodge #305 and a former member of the Scampers Camping Club. He loved fishing, woodworking, (especially making bird houses) and all sports.
He attended Salem High School and joined the Navy his senior year before graduation, to serve during World War II.
His wife, Ella Corrine (Fultz), whom he married March 8, 1947, preceded him in death on April 16, 2009, and also a brother Robert Vaughn.
Survivors include three sons, Jim (Linda) Vaughn of Berlin Center, Bill Vaughn of Olmstead Falls and Paul Vaughn of Salem; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
No services will be held.
