LISBON - Six open indictments and one superseding indictment were among those issued by the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury this week. Another 23 secret indictments were issued, which will be released as they are served. The grand jury also decided not to indict in one case presented.
An open indictment was issued for Christopher S. Neiswonger, 42, West Pershing Street, Salem, who is charged with illegal possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, illegal manufacture of drugs and possession of drugs. Neiswonger is alleged to have had a methamphetamine lab in his Salem apartment on Oct. 7.
A superseding indictment was issued for Cletus R. C. Monroy, 20, Rose Avenue, Salem, charged with attempted burglary and possession of drugs. According to court documents, Monroy trespassed into the home of Jessica Hazel, 881 E. Third St., Salem, and had cocaine in his possession, both on Sept. 13.
Troy L. Adams, 29, Richardson Avenue, East Liverpool, is charged with domestic violence for allegedly causing harm to Josselyn Cowdery, a family or household member, on Nov. 1. Adams has a previous domestic violence conviction in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Aug. 17, 2009.
Maurice L. Brown, 23, Cleveland, is charged with possession of drugs and illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility. Brown is alleged on Oct. 2 to have brought cocaine to the Columbiana County Jail.
Michael M. Nagel Jr., 29, Brenda Lane, Columbiana, is charged with fifth-degree felony theft and a second-degree misdemeanor criminal damaging. Nagel is accused of taking power cables from the Columbiana utilities department on Oct. 7 and damaging the cables on Oct. 8 by chopping them up with a hacksaw.
Timothy M. Wamsley Jr., 31, state Route 154, Lisbon, is charged with burglary for allegedly trespassing into the home of Lisa Bentfield, Shady Lane, Lisbon, on Oct. 8. Wamsley reportedly had two family pictures in his possession, which came from inside the house.
Robert G. Doak, 36, Norman Avenue, Alliance, is charged with domestic violence for allegedly causing physical harm to Jillian Mercer on Oct. 13. Additionally, Doak reportedly has previous convictions for domestic violence in Stark County Common Pleas Court on April 8, 2003 and March 28, 2005.
