Support for bereaved offered

Winona cookie walk planned
WINONA - The Hazel Circle of the Winona United Methodist Church, 32114 Winona Road, will host its annual cookie walk and craft sale from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 7. A large variety of cookies will be available to choose from at $4 per dozen.
Christmas boutique set in Salem
SALEM - The women of the First United Methodist Church are hosting a Christmas boutique from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 at the church, 244 S. Broadway Ave.
A soup and sandwich lunch will be available on Friday. A cookie walk is planned on Saturday. Decorated wreaths, gift baskets, gift items, children's gift items, centerpieces and decorated trees, etc., will be available. All old and new items have been donated by members of the church. All proceeds from the sale will be applied to the capital improvements fund. For more information call Norma Byers at the church at 330-337-9531.
Gospel concert set Sunday
EAST ROCHESTER - The New Alexander Christian Church, located at the corner of Rochester Road and state Route 172, will host a concert with gospel musician Thomas Shelton at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Over the last 35 years, Shelton has shared his God-given talent with thousands. He has traveled as the lead singer of the "Gospelites" of Dobbins, Calif., as well as a tenor with the "Watchmen" of "Operation Evangelize." As a soloist, his ministry as taken him to all 50 states, as well as to 11 other countries.
The public to attend. There is no cost, but a free-will offering will be received to help with Shelton's ministries.
Foster Family Fun Night planned
NEW WATERFORD Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 state Route 46, is hosting its annual Foster Family Dinner and Fun Night at 5 p.m. Dec. 9 in the fellowship hall. All area families who are or have been foster or adoptive families are invited to the buffet style dinner which starts at 6 p.m. The evening will include entertainment, games and prizes and gifts for children.
Reservations with a list of all the children and their first names must be turned in by Dec. 2 at 330-426-9061 or 330-457-7317.
The church will host the Crestview Churches Community Concerns (4C's) Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Sunday. The theme for the service is "This is My Story" featuring testimonies from community members.
The 4C's is an outreach organization operated by the six churches in the Crestview School District: East Fairfield United Methodist, Middleton Friends Meeting, New Waterford United Methodist, New Waterford United Presbyterian and Zion Lutheran and Abundant Life.
A community choir has been practicing for Sunday night's service. The final practice begins at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Abundant Life. Refreshments will be served after the service.
The 4C's operates a food pantry, in conjunction with Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley, every Wednesday from 11 to 1 p.m. The pantry will be closed the last two weeks of 2013.
