Roger Kent Messer

DUNEDIN - Roger Kent Messer, 66, of Dunedin, Fla., formerly of Salem, died Dec. 8 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.

Born July 8, 1947, in Canton, he was the son of Homer and Anneice (Wilson) Messer.

Mr. Messer retired as a carpenter after 45 years. He was the owner R & G Handyman Services and worked for the Pasco County School Board. He also worked as a truck driver and at the Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Course in Clearwater, Fla. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dunedin. During the Vietnam War he served in the Army.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Ginger; a son, Keith "KC" Charles Messer of Dunedin; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Goldsmith and Joanna Pike, both of Dunedin and Carey Menough of Salem; a brother, Larry Messer of Salem; and eight grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, 421 Main St.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Bay Pines VAHCS, c/o Hospice Care Unit, P.O. Box 5005, Bay Pines, Fla. 33744. Make checks payable to Bay Pines VAHCS-GPF 1086.

Services in Ohio wilxl be held at a later date.
