New Year's Eve Salem Committee member Connie Cranmer, center, shows off the winning design for this year's New Year's Eve Salem poster, flanked by the winning artist, Salem High School freshman Mary Double, left, who is an art student in Tony Martinelli's class, and the runner up, SHS senior Anna Wyss, who is an art student in Lisa Frederick's class. The poster contest was open to all SHS students. The winning design shows a clock with the downtown skyline behind it. Advance tickets will remain on sale for $5 per person through Tuesday, with the price jumping to $8 from Christmas Day through New Year's Eve at the door. Tickets are available at all Salem area banks, Salem Giant Eagle, Salem Community Center and Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. Check the website at www.newyearsevesalem.com for the event schedule.
