NEGLEY - Walter E. Dyke, 74, of Negley died Wednesday.
He retired in 1997 from Murray trucking where he had been employed as a supervisor, having spent the bulk of his employment as a diesel mechanic, as well as having served time in the U.S. Army. He was a Christian by faith.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Zalick) whom he married March 2, 1963; three children, Rick (Kathy) Dyke of Negley, Amanda (Joseph) Reed of Monaca, Pa., and Jennifer (Jason) Mackall of New Waterford; three grandchildren; and his mother, Carolyn Louise Dyke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Dyke, and a granddaughter .
A memorial service celebrating Walt will be held at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Saturday. Friends will be received prior to the service from 4 to 7 p.m.
The family has asked that material tributes take the form of contributions to the Negley Volunteer Fire Dept, Southern Care Hospice, 5401 Ashely Circle Ste E, Austintown, Oh 44515, or the charity of one's choice.
