Woman pleads guilty to drug deception

LISBON - A woman facing up to 34 years in prison for using deception to obtain dangerous drugs pleaded guilty to a 28-count indictment in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

Sharon M. Mitchell, 38, Woodworth Road, New Springfield, pleaded guilty to 16 counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug, a fifth degree felony, and 12 counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug, a fourth degree felony. Sentencing is set for March 24.

She faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine for each of the 12 fourth-degree felony charges and 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine each for the 16 counts.

Court documents note she used deception to obtain or dispense oxycodone, hydrocodone and diazepam on 28 occasions between January 2009 and December 2011.
