Twila Mae Kloos will celebrate her 90th birthday on Feb. 7. She was born in Salem on Feb. 7, 1924, to the late Charles and Arlene Kille, one of nine children, Laverne, Norma, Wesley, Charles Jr., Ellsworth, Esta, Jim and Miriam. She married the late Frederick T. Kloos on Oct. 10, 1942, and became a farmer's wife.
Their children include Judy (Bob) Doyle, Fred Kloos Jr., Steve (Phyllis) Kloos, Shellee (Jim) Murcko and Connee (Dan) Lawlis. She also has 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kloos is known for her cooking and baking, and her abilities to sit anyone down to a meal who stops by. She still enjoys baking, most everyday, and having family and friends in for a piece of lemon meringue pie.
The family asks friends and family to help her celebrate the occasion by joining in a card shower and including any special memories and funny stories about her and the farm.
