Sebring American Legion hosting steak fry
SEBRING - The Sebring American Legion on California Avenue will host a steak fry from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Grilled porterhouse, strip or ribeye steaks are the choices which include a baked potato, all-you-can-eat salad bar, bread and coffee. Carryouts are available and the public is welcome.

Johnny Wright benefit scheduled Feb. 22
SALEM - The Johnny Wright benefit will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight Feb. 22 at Salem AMVETS Post 45, 750 S. Broadway Ave.
A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. There also will be a Chinese auction and bake sale. Entertainment is planned from 9 p.m. to midnight with music provided by Ruckus.
Lepper Library sponsoring free tax prep
LISBON - The Lepper Public Library will sponsor free income tax return preparation for senior citizens age 65 and over.
Returns will be prepared by the library's fiscal officer, Carol Tsilimos, who is also a registered tax preparer. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 25 and March 13. Those interested must reserve a time in advance by calling the library at 330-424-3117.
Bipolar support group meets weekly

Scholarship Foundation sponsoring dinner
SALINEVILLE - The Salineville-Southern Alumni Scholarship Foundation (SSACSF) will sponsor a ham dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Southern Local elementary cafeteria.
The meal includes ham, baked potato or macaroni and cheese, green beans, applesauce, roll, beverage and a dessert. Cost is $7 for ages 12 and up, $6 for senior citizens, $5 for children ages 3 to 11, and free for children under 3.
Carryout dinners are available for $7. Proceeds will be used for scholarships to be awarded to graduating seniors at the alumni banquet on May 24 at the school.
The SSACSF was established in 1987 as a charitable group to recognize and reward graduating seniors for their academic excellence.
To date, it has awarded 268 scholarships totaling $222,350. This money was obtained by fund raisers and donations. All donations are tax deductible.

S. Range kindergarten registration planned

Children's book by local author available

Allegheny Wesleyan College hosting revival
SALEM - Allegheny Wesleyan College will be in revival with the Rev. Jonathan Bell of Greenville, Pa., through Feb. 9. Groups from the college will provide special music. Services will be held at 11:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The public is invited.
Library hosting Game Day Program
COLUMBIANA -The Columbiana Public Library is having a Game Day Program for students in grades five to 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

SEBRING - The LCpl Daniel McVicker scholarship breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon March 2 at the American Legion, 395 W. California Ave.
The all-you-can-eat meal includes eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, french toast, pancakes, sausage gravy and biscuits, hash browns, juice and coffee. Cost is $7 per person.
Lily Pond closed to ice skaters
YOUNGSTOWN - Due to the warmer temperatures over the past 24 hours, Mill Creek MetroParks officials have decided to close the Lily Pond to skaters until further notice. The safety of visitors is of the utmost importance.
Officials are hoping that below freezing temperatures over the next week will permit them to open the Lily Pond to skaters next weekend.
Mill Creek MetroParks officials would also like to remind visitors that due to the fluctuating temperatures, trails throughout the MetroParks might be slippery. Visitors and hikers should use caution when on these trails.
Soup sale planned at Calla church
