Phantoms Skate/Meet and Greet set

YOUNGSTOWN - Mill Creek MetroParks will hold a Youngstown Phantoms Skate/Meet and Greet from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Lily Pond. Hockey lovers of all ages can come out and meet the Phantoms and try out their skills on the ice.

Breakfast planned Feb. 16 at Salem VFW

SALEM - The Salem Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892 Men's Auxiliary is hosting a public breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Feb. 16 at VFW Post 892, 496 Arch St. Haystacks, or a traditional breakfast of eggs, pancakes, hash browns, sausage patties, toast and beverages, will be served. Cost is $5 per meal.

Beaver Township Ruritans to meet

CANFIELD The Beaver Township Ruritan Club plans to meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Paradise United Church of Christ, 10020 New Buffalo Road. A social time begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Cost for members, spouses and guests is $10 per person.

A program titled "Surgeries of the knee and hip," presented by Dr. James Jamesson, an orthopedic specialist, begins at 7:30 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner planned at Salem Masons

SALEM - The public is invited to a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Masonic Building, 788 E. State St. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

A public breakfast buffet will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Masonic Building. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea. The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator. Proceeds will be directed to the Salem Masonic Building Fund.

Community agriculture program set

SALEM - Lee Lichtenwalner will present a community-supported agriculture program from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 3 in the Quaker Room at the Salem Public Library. Lichtenwalner will discuss the many benefits to health and wellness eating locally grown foods. Register online at There is no cost to attend. Water Exercise Together class offered

SALEM - Salem Regional Medical Center's Water Exercise Together (WET) class allows residents of all ages to enjoy the benefits of exercise, without excess strain on the joints and muscles. Get a total body workout with resistance, using a simple pool noodle, during WET's brand new "Shape up for Spring" program Feb. 17 through April 3 at the Salem Community Center. Classes meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Participants can attend any two sessions per week for $55. Pre-registration for the class is required by calling 330-332-7771.
