SALEM - Duane O. Joy, 72, of Salem, passed away on Feb. 14, 2014, at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.
Duane was born in Lisbon on June 1, 1941, the son of the late Clinton and Thena Marie (Pugh) Joy; was a graduate of United High School and a member of the Church of Christ in Lisbon. Duane enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine (Boso) Joy of Salem; a son, John S. (Jill) Adams of Salem; three daughters, Judith Ann (Tim) Bickle of Ariz., Vickie Lynn Dennison of Lisbon and Lisa Marie (Charles) Shafer of Salem;10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Glen, Gerald, Marvin, Darlene Matheny, Gary, Tim, Terry and Gale.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Merel; and a great-grandson.
A funeral service will be held today on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Salem.
