SALEM - Virginia May (Stout) Roberts, 90, of Salem, died at 2:21 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1923, the daughter of the late Delbert and Ethel G. (May) Stout.
She was employed for 17 years at the Salem Community Hospital (nka Salem Regional Medical Center) in the Housekeeping Department. She retired in 1988 and then returned to be a volunteer in the Look Nook Gift Shop for 17 years. She also worked in her early years at Salem China and Church Budget Envelope.
She is survived by her children, John Roberts, Nancy (David) Webb, Janet (John III) Seddon, Scott (Mary) Roberts, all of Salem, Jean (James) Harris of Dunnellon, Fla., Barbara (James) Miller of Wellsville, and Don Roberts of Ravenna; siblings, Harold and Don Stout, both of Salem; 28 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Roberts on Jan. 6, 1989, her sons James and Jerry Roberts, a sister Faye Stout, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, with Pastor Terry B. Kirsch of the Tri-County Church of Christ officiating. The burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Salem.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
