- Firefighters were called at 2:31 a.m. Tuesday to the 1000 block of East Third Street for an alleged transformer on fire. The problem was found to be two lines that were touching and arcing. Ohio Edison was notified.

- Firefighters were called at 11:10 p.m. Monday to North Lincoln Avenue near Sunset Boulevard for a one-vehicle accident where it appeared the car sloped down a hill and was resting against a fire hydrant. One patient was involved and was given treatment until an ambulance arrived and took the patient to the emergency department at Salem Regional Medical Center. The vehicle was checked for hazards but checked out okay. Firefighters remained on the scene as a precaution until a wrecker removed the car.

- A smell of natural gas was reported at 6:44 p.m. Sunday on South Lundy Avenue where an odor was detected and Columbia Gas was notified to respond. Firefighters remained on the scene until Columbia Gas arrived.
