Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel, right, visited Humtown Products in Columbiana Thursday and is pictured with Brandon Lamoncha, solution provider and sales manager for Humtown. Lamoncha is explaining the cutting-edge technology involved in 3D printing. Mandel, who is running for re-election, said, "We have to be a manufacturing and agricultural based country" adding that, "I think there is a misconception today over what manufacturing jobs are." He noted that he recently read where 48 percent of college graduates work in jobs that don't require college degrees and added that policy makers and school administrators need to do a better job in delivering the message to kids about manufacturing. Mark Lamoncha, president and CEO of Humtown said, "They just don't teach die making and pattern making" any more. (Salem News photo by Larry Shields)
