GOSHEN TOWNSHIP- A Goshen Police District officer was treated for non life-threatening injuries after being struck from behind by another vehicle Sunday morning.
Rashele M. Whaley, 18, 23316 Buck Road, Alliance, was cited for assured clear distance ahead at 9:46 a.m. after she allegedly failed to stop on the snow-covered roadway for the cruiser driven Officer John Calko, 38, who was eastbound on state Route 165 and slowed to turn north onto Duck Creek Road. Whaley's Ford Five Hundred continued off the left side of Duck Creek Road.
No one in Whaley's vehicle reported injury. Calko was transported by Damascus EMS to the Salem hospital for treatment of the minor injuries. Both vehicles suffered disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene.
