SALEM- Mildred (Burbick) Ewing-Fiscus, 94, of North Lima, formerly of Salem, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Inn at Glenellen.
She was born on Jan. 3, 1920, in Homeworth, Ohio, to the late Orville and Emma (Brunner) Burbick.
She was an active member of the Salem First Friends Church where she taught Sunday School, served as the head to the Visitation Committee and was active in the church.
She was the manager of the fabric store in the Salem Plaza and a rural mail person. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint and knitting. She loved to garden and spend time with the family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Ewing whom she married on May 28, 1946, and died on Sept. 23, 1974, and Paul Fiscus Jr. whom she married on April 7, 1978, and died on March 10, 1990; and a sister, Vanita Kubas.
She is survived by her children Emily (Peter) Yost of Urbana, Ohio, and Alan (Linda) Ewing of Canfield, Ohio; siblings Evelyn Yaggi of Beloit, Jean Pryor of South Carolina, Joann (Carl) Garwood of Leetonia, and Orville Burbick Jr. of Leetonia; six grandchildren, Amy (Doug) Ewing-Campbell, Andrea (Adam) Wilson, Andrew (Tiffany) Ewing, Bryan (Tara) Yost, Bradley Chelsea) Yost and Brittany Jo Yost; and three great-grandchildren, Bryce and Quinn Campbell and Alice Wilson.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday at the Salem First Friends Church with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. The burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held one hour to the services at the church.
