SALEM - Carl K. McCartney Jr., 77, of Salem, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born July 8, 1936 in Salem, a son of Carl K. Sr. and Florence Stark McCartney.
Before his retirement in 1996, he had worked at Eljer Company as a tub enameler for 42 years. He was a member of the Community Bible Church in Westville.
His wife, Marilyn (Headland) McCartney, whom he married Sept. 18, 1955 survives him along with a son, Jerry (Kathleen) McCartney of Salem; a daughter, Renae Unkefer of Columbiana; a brother, Glenn (Carla) McCartney of Beloit; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A son, Michael L. McCartney, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Doran officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
