MARYVILLE, Tenn. - John W. Herold Sr., 75, of Maryville, Tenn., formerly of Damascus, died at his home Friday.
He was born in Salem on Feb. 2, 1939, the son of the late Henry and Evelyn (Price) Herold Sr.
He was a graduate of Salem High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed by KLOTE International Corporation.
Survivors include his six children: John (Lyn) Herold of Crestview, Fla., Kevin Herold of Maryville, Tenn., Mark (Sheila) Herold of Sebring, Matt (Sissy) Herold of Maryville, Cheryl Herold of Maryville and Tim (Michele) Herold of Maryville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, along with two brothers, Howard Herold Jr. and Gary Herold, and a sister, Mary Phillips, all of Hanoverton,. He was preceded in death by his wife Corrine (Hoffman) in December of 1997.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home in Sebring with Pastor Roy Teague officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11: a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Damascus Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
