SALEM - Sarah Victoria Sowers, 31, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 9, at Hospice House in Youngstown, Ohio.
Born Dec. 2, 1982, Sarah lived in Salem, Ohio, most of her life and was also a resident of Youngstown Developmental Center.
Sarah lived for dining out, the holidays, shoes, and shopping. She talked all year about upcoming events and spending time with her family and friends.
Sarah was loved by all who knew her and appreciated for her wonderful sense of humor. She was greatly cared for by her loving family and the beautiful staff at YDC.
Survivors include her parents, Sue and Ron Sowers; her grandparents, Duretha (Nan), McLaughlin and Austin Sowers; siblings Josh (wife Emily) and Beth Blanchard (husband Matt and daughters, Grace and Becca); uncle, Pat McLaughlin; cousins, Kelli and Aaron (wife Jenna); and all the extended Sowers and McLaughlin families.
The family will be holding a private celebration of her life, led by speaker Christine Woolf and worship leader, Maurice Hatcher, both from the Alliance Friends Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the I&E fund at Youngstown Developmental Center, 4891 E. County Line Road, Mineral Ridge, Ohio, 44440; or EDI Central Client Council, 8330 County Home Road, Lisbon, Ohio 44432. These donations will benefit the clients of these facilities.
