EAST PALESTINE - Gary R. Landsberger Sr., 64, of Padgett Road, died at 6:01 a.m. Saturday at the Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware, after becoming ill while traveling.
Mr. Landsberger was born April 6, 1950, a son of the late George F. and Grace Hooks Landsberger, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Over the years he had at one time been employed with Columbiana Pump, and more recently was involved with farming. He was Catholic by faith.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Landsberger of Okarche, Okla., and Sam Landsberger of Leetonia; and two daughters, Melissa Woods of Negley and Amy Ewing of Canfield. He also leaves one brother, Daniel Landsberger of West Point; three sisters, Sally Gordon, Betty Burkey and Debra Hall, all of East Palestine; 10 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Mr. Landsberger was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Washburn on Feb. 4, 1993. He was also preceded by a son, Ryan Landsberger, and a granddaughter, Ceara Burns.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral home. Burial will follow in Salem Reformed Cemetery, Unity.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
