COLUMBUS - Christine A. Senanefes, 52, of Columbus, formerly of Salem, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at her home following a long illness.
She was born Oct. 23, 1961, in Salem, daughter of Chryssanthi "Noula" (Kefala) Senanefes and the late James Senanefes.
She was a graduate of the University of Akron and worked for Ohio Health for 17 years. Even though she was battling a tough illness, she managed to complete her nursing school at Fortis Nursing School in Columbus and practice nursing as a registered nurse for a year at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Christine was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
Survivors include her mother, Chryssanthi "Noula" Senanefes of Salem; a brother, Michael G. (Misty) Senanefes of Columbus; a niece, Taylor of Cleveland; and a nephew, Zachary "Bootle Bug" of Columbus.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Youngstown with Father Yanni Verginis officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Lisbon Cemetery.
