LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a May 12 preliminary hearing was set for Michael F. Hipsley, 21, last known address state Route 39, Salineville, charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into a home on Fink Road, Salineville, and later being found with items in his vehicle which came from in the home on April 25. A pretrial was also set for May 12 for Hipsley charged with possession of marijuana and possession of instruments to ingest or inhale a controlled substance. Finally, he was fined $30 for a seat belt violation.
Shawneen N. Bentley, 25, Aliquippa, Pa., was fined $200 and credited with eight days served in jail for furnishing false information, license expired less than six months and traffic control devices.
Ray RS Kinney, 29, North Street, Salineville, was fined $200, credited with one day served and required 30 hours community service for weapons while intoxicated after Salineville police were called for shots fired in February.
Hannah E. Louk, 19, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, was fined $200 and required 30 hours community service for unauthorized use of property amended from theft for attempting to shoplift $162 worth of items, primarily cosmetics, from the Salem Walmart on Feb. 16.
Donald L. Russell, 47, Pioneer Street, Hammondsville, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from assault for throwing Clara Allgood around the home and striking her in the face on Sept. 13, 2012. A criminal mischief citation was dismissed.
Ronald Brightwell, 51, Oakdale Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $75, sentenced to 10 days in jail and required 40 hours community service for cruelty to animals, abandoning animals and two counts of prohibitions concerning companion animals. Brightwell was accused on Jan. 3 of leaving a blond mixed breed dog tied outside with a rope and insufficient food or water, leaving the dog emaciated. The rope reportedly was embedded in the dog's flesh an inch deep for at least three weeks and no medical care was sought. Additionally, Brightwell reportedly moved away from a home on McIntosh Road, Wellsville, leaving the dog in this condition.
Tony R. Barnes, 39, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, was fined $150, credited with one day served in jail, sentenced to four additional days in jail and required 40 hours community service for menacing for leaving numerous phone messages threatening to harm Harold Hill in September 2013.
Christie L. Schnader, 32, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $150, sentenced to three days in jail and required 40 hours community service for theft for concealing a Wahl Clip and Trim hair trimmer valued at $30 in her purse and attempting to leave the Salem Walmart on March 23.
Jamie M. Pastore, 26, Union Street, Washingtonville, was fined $150, credited with seven days served in jail and required 30 hours community service for domestic violence for pushing and putting a choke hold on his brother on May 1.
Ashley M. White, 31, Mill Street, Salineville, was fined $130 for and equipment violation and two counts of no license amended from driving under FRA suspension.
William D. Sherrill, 27, Lisbon Street, Columbiana, was fined $130 for failure to reinstate a license and failure to have a functioning brake light.
Charles K. Farnsworth, 64, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, was fined $130 for failure to reinstate a license and a seat belt violation.
Richard R. Vecchio, 51, state Route 164, Lisbon, was fined $100 and ordered to continue counseling for public intoxication and open container.
Cheri Anne Burke, 50, East Maryland Avenue, Sebring, was fined $50 for assured clear distance and marked lanes.
A May 15 court trial was set for William K. Leverentz, 54, Sarasota, Fla., cited with disorderly conduct while intoxicated for allegedly using vulgar language, kicking, hitting and head butting customers and employees at Mason Steakhouse after he attempted to leave while extremely intoxicated on Wednesday. During his arraignment, Leverentz noted he was attempting to bicycle through the area on his way to North Carolina to continue his career.
A June 10 pretrial was set for Amanda L. McCarty, 23, East Fifth Street, Salem, charged with four counts of theft for allegedly taking money while employed as a cashier at Valley View Two. McCarty is accused of taking $590 on April 3, $419 on April 2, $446 on April 1, and $341 on March 31
A June 16 pretrial was set for Jared M. Coil, 36, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, cited with OVI first offense, hit skip, failure to reinstate a license and failure to control.
