SALEM - The Salem Saxon Club will not offer a breakfast buffet on Saturday due to unforeseen circumstances.
Swiss steak supper set at Concord Presbyterian Church
SALEM - An all-you-can-eat Swiss steak supper will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Concord Presbyterian Church on Route 45. Cost is $10 for adults, $6 for ages 12 and under, and free for 4 and under. Proceeds will benefit the improvement fund.
Student art on display at South Range spring event
BEAVER TWP. - Student art will be displayed when the South Range High School Music and Art Department hosts its annual spring event from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at South Range High School cafeteria. Visitors will have a chance to vote for their favorite artist in the Battle of the Artist contest that the art department is conducting between 10 of the featured senior class artists. The winner of the contest will receive a $25 gift card. Also, the band will perform "Eroica: The Voyage Home," the original score that was written specifically for the group by composer, Dennis Sichner of Cleveland.
"Cruise for a Cure' car show planned Sunday at Crestview
COLUMBIANA - The "Cruise for a Cure" car show is slated from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Crestview High School's Performing Art Center's parking lot. Dash plaques will be given to the first 50 entries and there will be trophies for trucks, semis, hot rods, classic cars, modifieds, tractors, motorcycles, etc. The event includes a basket raffle, 50/50 raffle, DJ and food concessions. Breakfast buffet set at Salen Masonic Building May 24
SALEM-A public breakfast buffet will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. May 24 at the Salem Masonic Building, 788 E. State St.
Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea.
The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator.
Beaver Local Class of 1979 plans 35th reunion June 2
LISBON - The Beaver Local High School Class of 1979 is hosting its 35th-year reunion on July 5 at the Tri-State Casting Club. Reservations must be made by June 4. Cost is $30 per person. The social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by class pictures, dinner and music. Beaver Police FOP to host golf outing Aug. 6 at Lake Club
BEAVER TWP. - Beaver Township Police Department Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 201 will host its 16th annual benefit golf outing on Aug. 6 at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, New Springfield. The fundraiser begins at 8:30 a.m.
Cost is $85 per person which includes a cart, green fees, steak dinner and beverages. Prizes will be awarded. All proceeds from this outing are used by Beaver FOP to fund numerous charitable events throughout the year. Anyone interested in golfing or sponsoring a hole is asked to contact Jen King or Lt. West Branch Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show set Saturday
BELOIT- The West Branch Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot between the middle and high school buildings. Registration is $5 and all proceeds benefit school libraries.
Judging will be provided by local 4-H students with sponsor choice trophies (Top 3 cars, Truck, Motorcycle, Oldest Stock) awarded at 5:30 p.m. There will also be dash plaques and goody bags to the first 75 registrants, concessions, 50/50 and door prizes. Scrappers, Leetonia Library team up for reading program
LEETONIA- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers have teamed up with the Leetonia Community Public Library to help children practice their reading skills. The Scrappers Reading Club is encouraging a children to come to the library, pick out five books and a Scrappers bookmark. Record the titles you read and redeem the bookmark for two tickets to a 2014 Scrappers game and a T-shirt.
