Auburn residents learn about sweet pickles

Jan Baswell, activity director at Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Damascus, "pickle pins" resident Art Swetye as he gets ready to eat a sweet pickle. The residents, staff and families of the home recently celebrated the life and times of the sweet gherkin. The history of the Heinz Company, as well as the pickle pin symbol, first associated with the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, were explained to all, and everybody got to taste test the famous sweet gherkins.
