SALEM - Rush Fitch, 81, of Sebring died at 2:17 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1932 in Manton, Kentucky, the son of the late Andy and Julie (Hickman) Fitch. Rush retired in 1994 as an inspector in the enamel room at the Eljer Company where he worked for 41 years. He was Baptist by faith and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Sebring.
His wife, Barbara Mae Fitch, whom he married Aug. 28, 1954, preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 2011.
Survivors include two sons, John (Patti) Fitch of Fort Worth, Texas and James Fitch (fianc, Melissa Williams) of Sebring; a daughter, Deborah (Ray) Martin of Sebring; a sister, Rose (Bill) Blackburn of Salem; three brothers, Jess (Berneda) Fitch of Salem, Virgil Fitch of Surfside, South Carolina and John Fitch of Holley, New York; three grandchildren, James and Josh Sneddon and Alye Fitch; and a great-grandchild, Keagan.
A daughter, Barbara Jean Fitch; two brothers, William and Gordon Fitch; and a sister, Opal Fitch; preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Stark Memorial with Rev. Marty Radcliff officiating. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stark Memorial. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
