EAST PALESTINE - Grace Lutheran Church Food Pantry will be open from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The pantry is open to East Palestine School District residents only.
VFW Ladies to serve beef tips July 25
SALEM - Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892 Ladies Auxiliary will serve a beef tips and noodles dinner including salad and dessert from 5 to 7 p.m. July 25 at the post home, 496 Arch St. Cost is $6. Carryouts are available.
Free community dinner planned
HANOVERTON - The Hanoverton Anniversary Committee met recently to finalize plans for the free community dinner at 5 p.m. July 26 at the old school house on Second Street. Ham sandwiches, baked beans, sweet corn and beverages will be served. Attendees are to bring a lawn chair and a dessert to share. Games will be provided. The Hanover Township Historical Museum will be open.
Ellsworth School reunion set for Aug. 2
ELLSWORTH TOWNSHIP - The 80th annual Ellsworth School reunion is slated Aug. 2 at the Ellsworth Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on Ellsworth Road. A coverdish luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m. All teachers and students who attended Ellsworth Township schools before the consolidation with Berlin Center are invited to attend with their families. Attendees are to bring a coverdish and table service. Beverages will be furnished.
Firestone 5k to use Race Pace app
COLUMBIANA - The Firestone Park Homecoming 5k will use Race Pace, a smart phone application that tracks the runners in live time using GPS. Race Pace will be available free of charge to participants and spectators. For those without the use of a smart phone, a monitor at the finish line will be available to track the progress of the runners. To sign-up for Race Pace visit myracepace.com/Capstone/map/?e=21. The 5k race begins at 8 a.m. Sept. 6 utilizing the Vision for Veterans course at Firestone Park. Runners can place as individuals as well as a member of a team. Salem 2016 continues 'Shoe Fly By'
SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 2016 is continuing its "Shoe Fly By." The class is attempting to collect 15,000 pairs of shoes in all types and sizes, clean or dirty, no holes or torn shoes. The public is asked to bring gently used shoes to Family Video from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3. Proceeds will be used for prom and after prom expenses. Shoes will also be collected on Aug. 9 during the Arby's Cruise. The rain date is Aug. 16.
Columbiana Historical Society picnic set
COLUMBIANA - The Historical Society of Columbiana-Fairfield Township will hold its annual picnic on Monday at Firestone Park, pavilion one. The business meeting begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Ventriloquist Tristan Hostettler will provide the program.
