BELOIT- The West Branch school board Thursday night approved several new teachers for the upcoming school year.
The board hired Brooke Lancey for elementary art, Jennifer Fye for kindergarten, Tom Preisse for social studies and Ken Harris for math. The board also hired Kayla Rolston as a school counselor and Title I staff members Kassie Blazer, Treva Cline, Emily ReKolt, Jenessa Woods, Diana Wallace, Lorie Bush, David Denny, Brianna Kelecava, Jeff Rhodes, Jessica Scullion, Abbie Zimmerman and Betty George.
The board also accepted the resignation of Linda Wallace and Michael Sellaroli as aides.
Additionally the board granted supplemental contracts for the 20142015 school year to Chris Tucker, Mike Sigler, Scott Manusakis, Ken Harris, Shawn Alazaus, Frank Edie and Tom Preisse, assistant football coaches; Bob Shepherd and Jim Laut, eighth-grade football; Mike Helm and Chris Adams, seventh-grade football; Shane Blommel, assistant boys' soccer; Emily ReKolt, assistant girls' soccer; Tracy Wyatt, assistant cross country; Mike Falasca, middle school golf; Krista Roe, volleyball varsity assistant; Diana Wallace, volleyball junior varsity assistant; Andrea Soltis, volleyball freshman; Karli Kitzmiller, volleyball eighth grade; Jennifer Woods, volleyball seventh grade; Candy Rockwell, cheerleading freshman; Adrienne Lesnett, Academic Challenge; John Zamarelli, auditorium supervisor; John Zamarelli, drama productions; Erica Polinori, Future Teachers of America; Davida Wagner, Environmental Club; Bryan Stehura, instrumental music high school director; John Zamarelli and Christa Harris, instrumental music high school co-assistants; Bryan Stehura and John Zamarelli, instrumental music 5/6 & 7/8 co-directors; McKenzie Wallace, newspaper high school; Frank Edie, Pep Club; Wendy Lough, senior class advisor; Brenda Sharp, sophomore class advisor; Laurie Crisan, student council high school; John Zamarelli, vocal music high school; Krista Clay, vocal music middle school; John Zamarelli, vocal music musical director; and Christy Biery, yearbook high school.
Also at the meeting the board approved time and half rates of pay to confidential employees for all non-contracted work and granted approval for Superintendent Scott Weingart to carry forward unused vacation days (not to exceed five days) from the past school year to the next; and established the salary schedule for middle school assistant principal at $65,548 for Step 1, $67,229 for Step 2 and $68,350 for Step 3.
