Ruth Ann King and Dana Kevin Carey were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Nimishillen Church of the Brethren.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Florence Grate of Salem. The bridegroom is the son of Bill and Mitzi Carey of Mogadore.
Pastor Vern Hosteller officiated at the couple's double-ring ceremony. Prelude music was provided by Yvonne Howell, the bridegroom's sister. Wedding vocals were provided by Rhonda Grate, Kenny Grate, Shanae Gudmunson, and Shane Grate, sister-in-law, brother, niece, and nephew of the bride, respectively. A special time of prayer and dedication for the couple was observed during the ceremony, led by Pastor Hostetler.
The bride was given in marriage by her daughter, son-in-law, and son. She wore a rouched taffeta fit-and-flair spaghetti strap dress featuring a sweetheart neckline. The gown was detailed with a thin line of lace over rhinestones under the bustline and accented with ragline flowers on the left side of the high waist bodice and accented with an appliqued, distressed jean jacket from Tracy's Impressions. She also wore ivory rose embossed drop earrings and matching two-strand necklace, a gift from her daughter, and cowgirl boots. Her bouquet contained miniature burnt orange mums with baby's breath, tied with burlap. In her hair was a braid woven with baby's breath.
The ringbearer was Zane Betz, the bride's grandson. Ushers were Zach King, the bride's son, and Aaron Carey, the bridegroom's son. Registering guests were Rachelle and Ryan Betz, the bride's daughter and son-in-law.
Approximately 125 guests attended the reception held at the barn of Lee and Martha Yoder. The event was catered by Jeff Walker Catering of Alliance. The caller for square dancing at the reception was Al Campbell, college track coach of the groom.
The bride is employed as a floor salesperson at Hartville Hardware. The bridegroom is employed by Carey Construction. The couple resides in Mogadore and will take a delayed honeymoon trip to Colorado.
