Fom left, Salem Jr. /Sr. High School Associate Principal Hank Brock, Jr. High School Dean of Students Todd McLaughlin, Jr./Sr. High School Principal Sean Kirkland and Superintendent Dr. Joe Shivers accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Friday afternoon. Above, the administrators drench themselves with icy water and chunks of ice, caught on video. Right, the shocked expressions capture the moment. Shivers issued the challenge to Brock, McLaughlin and Kirkland after accepting the challenge from his brother Paul. In turn, the four laid down the challenge to other teachers, coaches and administrators in the district. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a campaign to raise awareness about ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Accepting the challenge within 24 hours requires the ice bucket dump and a $10 donation to the ALS Association. Anyone who declines, must donate $100. To learn more, go to www.alsa.org.
