Whoo-ee. It's kinda fun to read the comments backwards, starting at the newest, several days after the postings started. You would NEVER know what the comments started out being about!

"The tax breaks cost the tax payer appr. 100 billion/yr "

Don't you really mean, "The tax breaks cost the NON-TAXPAYERS appr. 100 billion/yr "?

Since a taxpayer not giving up more money to the government doesn't make the taxpayer poorer, I'll assume that is what you were trying to say. Understandably, the entitlement folk do see limits in subsidies if the tax revenues are not maximized.

"Hey, decades later, who remembers or actually uses 80% of the crap we were taught anyways."

Nobody. Because it wasn't and has never been about education. It's about justifying education and the job demands that came with it.

Military sexual assaults still up? Then both sides should be screaming justice for the VICTIMS.

Time to fire every commander who covers up these assaults? NO, They need PROSECUTED for it. The Commander in Chief should be leading charge to put an end to it, not protect his personal political agenda.

Does anyone remember when "Government was of the people, by the people and for the people?" "WE THE PEOPLE".

United we stand, divided we fall? All you have to do is read these comments every day and it's easy to figure out why our country is failing so miserably.

When political party affiliation and how to protect the power of that party and it overriding right and wrong...that is how we all lose. Whether your Republican or Democrat.

We don't have a system of Government that works anymore. Our two party system is failing us. It's not about progress, it about political power. Congress is not effective.

Our Commander in Chief should be leading the charge on this matter.

Like I said...remember when it was actually about "we the people"? We have an obligation and a responsibility to keep checks and balances within our own parties. If you don't get to the center of aisle then this country WILL NEVER be whole again.

I remember Mr. Hoopes. He was engaging and a great teacher. He knew how to get and keep the attention of his students. Similar to the science teacher Mr. Haines (sp?) Hey, decades later, who remembers or actually uses 80% of the crap we were taught anyways.

Now, on the original poll question. You haven't seen nothing yet. Just wait until they let women on the front lines and in active combat. Then you'll see how bad and how numerous sexual assaults can really get. From both the enemy as well as friendlys.

But I know I'm wasting my time explaining it to liberals. They'll never get it, as they see all our money as belonging to the gov't anyways.

It drives me insane when someone says that a tax break costs the government and therefore the taxpayers money. By definition that's impossible. A tax break only results in the government receiving less money, at least initially. Tax breaks work because we the people then spend that money for fuel, food, goods, vacations, etc. This money is a shot of adrenaline to the economy and the sales (and other)taxes off of that go back to the government anyways; and end up giving the Gov't more money than they would have received by having no tax break.

"Last but least ,what does this have to do with sex crimes in the military ?"

It has nothing to do with sex crimes in the military. notSocialist pointed out that we have much more serious problems in this country that we need to worry about first and that is the direction this conversation went. It is a sad state of affairs when we do have problems more serious, far more serious, than sex crimes in the military. How about the fact that people are paying ridiculous amounts of money for what little ammunition they can find and they are hoarding it? What does that tell you about our current state of affairs? This country has not been this close to breaking apart since 1860.

"Fast and Furious was started by Bush"

Operation Wide Receiver was started under Bush. It was shut down because they realized it wouldn't work. A U.S. Border Patrol agent was not killed with a Wide Receiver gun...the BATF traced it back to Fast and Furious. Again, we don't care about Bush. He is not our god. Say whatever you want about him but you are not insulting anyone here, and you are certainly not making a case to justify the irresponsible or criminal behavior of the Obama administration on unrelated matters.

"Wrong on the WMD, They where destroyed after the Gulf War and never replaced,"

Exactly what was destroyed? Who destroyed them? Where were they destroyed? How many were destroyed? Do you have any verifiable documentation on this or can you post a link to a reputable source?
