Even his closes backers agree he's going to do what he wants not matter whether it's Constitutionally correct or not. But, didn't he take an oath to uphold the Constitution?

Kozy yes he did take an oath to uphold the constitution. And so did the other members of both houses and the supreme court. Likewise all state and local public officials. So how have we gotten so far away from the intent of the constitution? Because we live in a society that does not value the freedoms that we have. We have seen those principles found within the constitution slowly eroded over the years. We have seen our country just legislate it's self right out of our freedoms. Why because we have let the foundation crumble. It is like anything else if the foundation starts to crumble and it is not repaired, the building will eventually fall.

I agree, concerned but the question was about the President. He is, whether we agree with him or not... our President. He is to lead by example. He is not living up to his obligation to uphold the Constitution.

Your right Kozy !

It's always about the president the union's or the dem's when it comes to the Salem News

Like concerned said we didn't get here over night and the blame can be spread around in all directions.

As long as we continue this blame game fro one yr. to the next or one administration to the next it will only get worse.

His abuse and manipulation of the US constitution should be challanged more by our elected congress persons but there does not seem to be the will by the brotherhood in Washington.

constitutional principles? Don't you have to understand them to be disconnected from them...my guess Obama couldn't cite the first sentence of the constitution prior to office...how would he have ever learned anything about the constitution when he wasn't schooled here in America. My guess, he can tell you everything you want to know about civil rights violations. The man is a useless President.

"a useless President"...

Well, WatchDog, my young lady...it certainly depends who you are. For those who don't like the Constitution or the freedoms we enjoy that make us different than other countries, he's great and they love him.

For those of us who love the way our country is special, Obama's principles or the lack thereof are not appreciated. And, he could care less about what the Constitution says or means.

An example...

BOULDER, Colo. | EPA chief Gina McCarthy said Wednesday that the Obama administration is finished waiting for Congress to act on climate change and plans to bypass the (Constitution) and legislative branch in developing a federal response.

Mr. Obama gave “what I really think is a most remarkable speech by a president,” said Ms. McCarthy in remarks at the University of Colorado.

“Essentially, he said that it is time to act,” she said. “And he said he wasn’t going to wait for Congress, ( or worry about what the Constitution says) but that he had authorities and that it was time to start utilizing those more effectively and in a more concerted way.”

Really?

Or, ever hear of taxation without representation?

Obama wants to tack on $5 phone tax to fund high-speed Internet in schools as an end run around Congress and an endless expansion of program at the expense of rate payers'

Unwilling to (follow the Constitutional separation of powers and responsibilities) by asking Congress for extra funds to pay for high-speed Internet connections in schools, Obama is instead looking to tack yet another charge on cellphones through the FCC.

The new program, called ConnectED, would "expand an existing" school-wiring effort and cost each cellphone user $5, said White House officials.

Really?
