"And you trust the Government?? Wow something new! "

No, but the report was similar to several from the private sector that I have read.

Another insightful comment. Thanx.

I taught in France one year. Only 2 months off in the summer, but they had a week long fall break in Oct, 2 weeks Christmas, 2 weeks in the spring. And Wed was only a 1/2 day and a lot of the activities were Wed aft (soccer games, etc) I loved it.

By the Government's own analysis, Head Start is a failure. The kids enrolled do no better in school than those that are not.

All this program does is provide a taxpayer-funded babysitting program.

You are correct, School could be all year long as advancing nations are doing.

But we can't even let ALL kids go to Head Start.

Okay, so I'm a minority here, but kids lose 1 month of learning over a 3 month summer break.
