Until pollsters do a fair poll, they don't show a fair result. In the latest poll showing the republicans were to blame for the shutdown by a margin of 43-38 percent, had 44% democrats, 32% republicans, 22% independents, and 2% who didn't have any idea what to call themselves.

These polls are all skewed to make news and nothing else...much as Bob said sometime back about the parties working outa deal...the press is making the mess a bigger mess.

But, the question was about this President and he has completely failed. He has messed up our country and turned friends and neighbors against each other. I will be in Salem, November 20,21, or 22. One of those days I will go to breakfast at a restaurant and let's see how many join me to meet and have a friendly chat. No arguments, no fights, just a nice chat about stuff like w used to have in our back yards...more later...Joe

I kind of think it's the republican party whose failed and all their BS is finally catching up with them

The poll # 's are like anything else. You take them at their worth.

You just don't like the #'S because it shows what a screw up the repubs .are

I don't believe anyone is doing well because they have forgotten why they are elected and they have no desire to follow the Constitution.

We need a change...

That's why I'm looking at a person who would bring our country back together and why I'm talking to as many as I can.

The question is whether a good person who can reduce our dependence upon government and bring us back together can get elected after Obama has us hating each other?

How comes Salem News never has a poll on how well the republican party is viewed?"

Because, ladybug...the democrats have the Presidency and the senate and therefore the majority. If the republicans had the majority in two of three, polls would be overwhelming towards the job of the republicans.

BUll crap

The Salem News os no different that Fox News,

Their totally anti Obama and Democrats.

It has nothing to do who controls what,

The house received to spending bills in march 2013 and refused to take them to conference 20 times like the process calls . There intention all along was to fight Obamacare from the beginning .

43 time they failed and now they shut the gov, down and some are stupid enough to think raising the debt ceiling wouldn't cause a big mess.

This isn't about dems.repus. conservatoives,liberals, or moderates.

It's about compromise and doing whats best for the majority.

Watched NBC last night. The night before they showed their poll with Republications at a negative 70% (compared with negatives in the 40's for others). They maintain (and is probably true) that their poll forced non-tea party republicans to reduce demands (as in, how much can we concede and still save some face).

I just wish the poll had shown everyone with that much of a negative rating--might have ended all this sooner.

ladybug...it's about following the Constitution, not compromise. Compromise and "watching out for one's self" is just how we got into this mess and opened the door to a socialist takeover. Our country needs a complete makeover back to strickly following the Constitution, no matter what the lobbiest want and pay for or the media wants
