Good by me, also.

Carrying them to the White House and stacking them neatly at the gate, with a note saying 'return to sender', is priceless.

What a great Commander-in-Chief, to refuse his veterans to their own memorials.

Some vets need to grow up when the government is shut down it's shut down. Take your little yellow flags and go home or back to the bars. The speakers teddy and his friends need to get back under the rock they came from!

The last time I looked the parks and memorials belonged to " ALL " americans,

The only reason they where because of the actions of a few illiterates in the senate and house.

The same little group that would cause a financial mess over their drum roll.

I see Sara Palin had her big mouth involved.

It's a wonder she even new where the memorial was.

If you voted no, go jump off the highest building you can find.

If it's an outdoor memorial that costs nothing to just walk up to it, it's never closed. I could understand it if it was inside a building and that building was closed due to the shutdown.

Are not most of these memorials and parks open areas? Did they not have to take gates and put them up to close them down? Rather than spend taxpayer money to put up barricades to deny access, wouldn't a better way have been to post signs that said "visit at your own risk" ? o I forgot, that wouldn't have caused division and turned it into something to be used a pawn to try to use it for political gain though. Just like money that was going to be paid out to government workers for working is now going to be paid out to furloughed workers and it somehow turns into a cost to taxpayers. Wasn't it still going to be a cost to taxpayers if they were still working? drama, drama drama

Beaumont, you're extremely disrespectful and a disgrace to Americans. How dare you tell Vets to "grow up"?! Take your own advice.

As I've said before, common sense is dead. If Salem city council argues over the budget and shuts everything down, would the PD then expend overtime putting up barriers at Centennial Park so you can't walk through the grass or sit in an open pavillion? They could but it would be stupid and unnecessary. Shut down the pool? sure. Stop mowing the grass? sure. Keep people from looking at the flowers? yea, right.

Why don't you people address the politicians who are responsible for these.

How many of you called ,e-mailed or wrote a letter to your rep.

I noticed the ah 's who started this was in the cdrowd

This country is to be run for the majority not 10 % of the population

It was Ted Cruz who stood on the floor for 22 hrs, advocating this along with about 40 house members You play games and you get what you ask for.

They all left Washington for 6 weeks knowing this was coming up

Then they came back and declared there wasn't enough time to negotiate a long tern spending bill.

Go kick the can down road with another temp, one

How am I supposed to answer those questions? 5% of the population approve of the job Congress is doing, you think I'm in that 5%?? Hint: I'm not. The fact remains, during the shutdown, these decisions of what is shutdown are coming straight from the White House. Open air memorials that are typically unguarded and free to enjoy 24/7 are now barricaded at closed. Straight from the President. Park rangers telling the press they've been ordered to "make the shutdown as painful as possible"...straight from the White House. Straight from the man who once said that raising the debt ceiling is a failure of leadership, something I agree with. There is no doubt that this entire thing is the fault of both parties and it isn't a new problem. It's been building for decades. How would this mess have been resolved in the spring? By raising the debt ceiling then? That IS kicking the can down the road...

No ! By taking the Ryan plan and The senate plan and setting down and coming up with a plan to address both issues.

Waiting till mid. of Sept was nothing but a game to force concessions instead of the grown up way of negioateing.

Again SO !

A small % percentage chose the path

I hear no mention of the nations parks being closed. Which is costing lost revenues of over $ 400 million/day

Other part of gov that could cause delays in benefits,

The list goes on.
