The county auditor’s office plans an aerial mapping program, mainly to boost tax revenues. Is this a good idea?

I like discussion. I've changed my opinion after hearing other points of view. So I can't figure out why the anti-Republican contingent here just keeps shooting out nonsensical one-liner comments like "keep voting Republican...Idiots". Do they really think that accomplishes anything productive? (I guess if they're having a bad day it's better than going home and kicking their dog, but trash talk is still on about that same level of immature behavior.)

If people who continually vote Republican are idiots, what do you call the people of Detroit?

No it isn't. They are going to spend 100,000 on a aerial program, then another 100,200,000. for appraisers to come around. Where is all the casino money, gas money? I think taxes should be coming down for the tax payers, maybe some refunds for people. Granted there are some people making money, but not everybody is cashing in!

Our taxes are high enough already. How much is this aerial mapping to cost? OH yeah, that's right, we'll pay for it with higher taxes!

Really seems like an invasion of privacy to me.

They're going to try to raise taxes by counting how many ramshackle house trailer bump-outs and chicken coops have been previously unreported.
