Only if it can also be used against the parents to teach them a lesson about raising undisciplined little monsters.

I must have missed some news story. At least, I assume there is a relevant reason for this question?

I agree with rmpwwe. Discipline begins at home.
Whenever we got in trouble at school, the punishment at home was twice as bad!
That is a loaded question as usual. I always hated that phrase. "Corporate Punishment". Physical violence.
Parents are raising undisciplined little monsters because the bleeding hearts of society believe "corporate punishment" is child abuse and violence. Parents are scared of being charged with child abuse. Thus the generation of undisciplined children. When government empowered children over the parents and supplied them with the threat of control and retribution was the day we lost this generation of kids. It has become so controlling that parents are being imprisoned because of things as small as "verbal abuse".
So I am saying no to this question (at this point). Why would any parent want to authorize any staff at any school the authority and power to discipline their child how the school system sees fit?
We are not raising our children, Government and schools are. I'm sorry but we need to turn back the hands of time and right all of this. We don't send our children to school for discipline, we send our kids to school.
ooops, we send our kids to school for an EDUCATION.
We made three huge mistakes as Americans. We let Government into our lives and homes. We let bleeding hearts drive the fear. We let the medical profession convince us a child's behavior and mind can be controlled by drugs.

Whats government got to do with the fact parents drop their kids for the schools to baby set .
That any discipline will end up in a law suit.
And teachers are expected to do what the parents don't.
Meanwhile they give the little monsters cars, cell phones and let them run free .
When you see an undisciplined child just look at the parents and you got the reason why!!
In the ideal world, schools should not have to use corporal punishment. However, since many parents don't adequately discipline their children, I believe that schools should have corporal punishment available as an option for dealing with unruly students.
