"Have you noticed that there is no draft?"
How many words do you get into my posts before you become overwhelmed and just give up? Two? Three? Surely, you didn't read a whole lot of what I posted, and you definitely didn't read until the end. You just couldn't wait to skim through so you could make some childish wise crack, but you missed the whole thing and fell short. Nice job.

Please just use wayne not the family name by family request.
In my view, the draft is a form of involuntary servitude as prohibited by the U.S. Constitution.
Have you noticed that there is no draft?
Sounds like some boot kissing NRA BS.

Of course, this is all theoretical amusement. There will be no more drafts. Can anyone imagine how that would work today? After they excuse all the fat, lazy, and medicated persons there will be accusations of racial profiling and incidents of political favoritism. Then the very few left would probably share a similar point of view something similar to what I have outlined. It would be an absolute failure.

Take a chance dying in a foreign land for nothing else other than advancing someone else's political agenda, or take a chance dying here on American soil defending your way of life....if you had to choose one or the other, which would it be?
"What does this have to do with the draft?"
Since we have the second amendment and we have the rare luxury of being armed as civilians, we can at will make a stand against the government if necessary under extreme circumstances. In my view, the draft is a form of involuntary servitude as prohibited by the U.S. Constitution. Considering one of the potential outcomes to being involuntarily drafted is death, then I would think the person being drafted would consider his (or, soon to be, her) circumstance pretty extreme.
THE CONSTITUTION: ....no exceptions. ....no excuses.
I support the NRA and any group that stands in support of the Constitution and fights to protect our second amendment rights. Isn't that patriotism? <grin>
Agree, Bob...I can take care of myself. But, I have no ill will towards another whether he heads up the NRA or lives on Allen Road.
Don't need the NRA in my house to protect my firearms.

Right to bear arms
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
What does this have to do with the draft?

Bug, rpm merely stated: Disarmament of the common citizen has been crucial to the success of every tyrannical government, totalitarian regime, and act of genocide since the dawn of human civilization.
The point is that there are those you want to accomplish this. This is ideally done in a "Legal" way by merely changing or adding laws. And this is exactly what the NRA is trying to prevent. But I think you already know that, and have no problem with legal disarmament at all.
I'd like to know just how many American citizens have been illegally dis armed ?

2nd amendment rights .
I think they called that draft dodging.

Rather than do all that, he (and the others) should have exercised their second amendment rights by making a stand against the involuntary servitude that was known as the draft. However, I still support the NRA. Disarmament of the common citizen has been crucial to the success of every tyrannical government, totalitarian regime, and act of genocide since the dawn of human civilization.

Wayne LaPierre of the NRA was drafted to serve in Vietnam but got a medical deferment due to a nervous condition with the help of his physician. This is then contrasted with his assertion that people with mental illness shouldn't be allowed to own firearms.
I did before wayne arrived. He could not serve his country because is nerves.
