I know those will disagree but I'm glad those banners are down, to me they just cluttered up downtown.

Currently, we have no rules for one group, no rules but hoops to jump thru for another, none of which actually involved city council.

ts, and in theory, whoever keeps up the planters downtown could plant poison ivy and marijuana plants. But they don't have to jump thru hoops to replace or add plants.
But go back and read the last article about this. Mayor Berlin called Mr Schwartz in to show banners to him, to representatives of the chamber, the beautification group, the historical group, all the other little groups. Not city council. That was just ludicrous.
questioner, why would a citizen committee not have to gain council approval before something is hung from infrastructure? If there's no city signoff, I could in theory spray paint on bedsheets and hang it from the streetlights withut issue.
"The city" should give approval?? And then should we all vote?--like for the city entranceway sign?
(Altho I wish I could have voted on our Christmas snowflakes.)
But when we have inertia because everyone feels their way is the only way, that is not the way it should be run.
Are we going to have "The city" decide if they like the plants in particular plots downtown, or in the planters?--I'm just glad someone is taking care of them. You make them get approval for all that and that's one more thing that would bite the dust.
Yes, and the committee should stop pouting because the city is doing what they should have been doing all along by granting a final (dis)approval.
Hey, has anyone looked downtown?
Old banners down, Nothing to replace them. Just the sick-out things with nothing on them.
I guess Renaissance took their banners and went home.
Maybe Salem News needs to re-poll now.
Quite a sense of humor there for early in the morning. Does your morning coffee buzz you, or do you just wake up with these zingers? I am enjoying them.
They are. See all the cold patch.
This is all we as a country can afford nowadays
Oh oh ! Competition.
