Columbiana girls win 19th

COLUMBIANA – The Columbiana girls look like they are ready for the tournament.

The Clippers went on a 26-6 run in the third quarter to beat East Palestine, 68-49, in the regular-season finale Thursday.

Columbiana improves to 19-3 and will play Heartland Christian in a Division IV sectional opener at 7:30 p.m. Monday at South Range High School.

Khylea Fullum topped the Clippers with a game-high 27 points, her 11th game this season scoring at least 20 points.

Columbiana opened up a 17-6 lead in the first quarter and had a 28-20 advantage at halftime.

For the Bulldogs, Brooke Gedeon scored 13 points and Courtney Weber added 11.

East Palestine moved to 5-16. The Bulldogs will play Pymatuning Valley at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Mineral Ridge Division III sectional.

Columbiana also won the reserve game, 53-18.
