East Palestine captures 6th

NEGLEY – East Palestine’s golf team earned its sixth straight to start the season by topping Southern Local 154-187 on Thursday at the East Palestine Country Club.

For East Palestine (6-0 and 3-0 Inter-Tri County League upper tier), Drew Wilson had a 37, Alec Dumbauld 37, Ryen Kemp 39, D.J. Bandy 41 and Andy Ellis 41.

For Southern (1-3), Jimmy Giannone 41, Clayton Cunningham 44, Jaret Dowling 50m Jordan Myers 52 and Aaron Sevek 52.

East Palestine hosts South Range on Monday.

BOARDMAN – United’s golf team scored a big road win with a 172-184 victory over South Range on Thursday at Mill Creek Golf Course.

For United (3-0), Bradley Miller had a 40, Kasen Smith 42, Hayden Wilson 45 and Caleb Berdine 45.

For South Range (3-1), Logan Zarnick had a 43, Brooks Thomas 44, Nick Wiery 48 and Robbie Matos 49.

South Range is at East Palestine on Monday.

Mineral Ridge 218

LAKE MILTON – Led by Josh Faulkner’s 36, the Leetonia golf team secured a 180-218 win over Mineral Ridge on Thursday at Olde Dutch Mill.

Also for the Bears (3-1), Corey Valentine posted a 43, Brandon Custer 49 and Hunter Smith 52.

Justin Kompanik led the Rams with a 51.

Leetonia is at Wellsville on Monday.

COLUMBIANA – Crestview’s golf team moved to 5-2 on the season with a 183-218 victory over Springfield on Thursday at Copeland Hills.

For Crestview (1-2 in the ITCL upper tier), Enzo Lucci had a 43, Craig Landsberger 45, Kaden Davis 46 and Preston Straney 49.

For Springfield, Dustin Delsignore 44, Alex Grantonic 55, Corey Karabin 59 and John Danks 60.

CARROLLTON – Emily Blaner captured medalist honors with a 40 on Thursday as Beaver Local took on Carrollton and Salem at Carroll Meadows.

Carrollton won the match with a 201. Olivia Wright led the winners with a 47.

For Beaver Local (219), Taylor Plunkett had a 50, Hannah Edwards 56 and Laurel Meredith 73.

Courtney Halter led Salem (229) with a 46. Carli Hochadel added a 54, Erica Kyser 63 and Sarai Bodine 66.

McDonald 177, Wellsville 216, Sebring 228

SEBRING-Wellsville dropped its second match of the season Thursday, finishing second to McDonald at Sebring Country Club.

Travis Childers led the Tigers (2-2) with a 46. He was followed by Nick Bayer with a 54, Jake Green with a 57, Noah Palmer with a 59.

Mike Schuller of McDonald was the medalist with a 40. Also for the Blue Devils, Cade Williams shot 43, while Mike Soots had a 45 and Betty-Jo DelFaratte shot 49.

For Sebring (0-5) Joey Hollback had a 49, Kyle Youmans 58, Cori Wilson 59 and Brandon Dare 62.

Western Reserve 172, Wellsville 201, Toronto 214

WELLSVILLE-Wellsville finished second to Western Reserve on Wednesday in a three team match at Cedar Hills Golf Course.

Nick Bayer and Travis Childers paced the Tigers with scores of 43 and 46 respectively, while Gace Cartwright and Jake Green each carded a 56.
