Lions take pride in win over Quakers

SALEM – The Minerva girls basketball team relied on a strong first and fourth quarter to defeat Salem, 47-31, in Northeastern Buckeye Conference action Saturday.

The Lions (7-6, 3-5 NBC) were led by Josie Chaddock with 15 points and Lauren Haynam scored 12.

The Quakers were led by Chloe Cheresne with seven points. Tori Jones and Megan Lehwald both contributed six points.

Minerva also won the junior varsity game 33-17.

Erica McCauley led the Lions with 11 points. Kendra Richardson scored six for the Quakers.

The Quakers play at Beaver Local on Monday.
