Salem comes up short vs. Liberty

YOUNGSTOWN – Despite an abundance of three-pointers from the Salem boys basketball team, Liberty topped the Quakers 73-67 on Tuesday.

Asim Pleas led the Leopards with 30 points. Lynn Bowden and Cameron Clark both scored 15.

The Quakers were led by D.J. Pullie with 22 points. Max Wolfgang had 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Ryan Hoover added 10.

Salem won the junior varsity game 41-37. In a collaborative effort for the Quakers, Matt Weingart, Branson Wilms and Matt Harper all led with eight points each. Alexander Carnathan scored seven for the Leopards.

The Quakers return to Northeastern Buckeye Conference action on Friday against Minerva, which will also serve as homecoming night.
