Strong fourth quarter helps Quakers prevail
SALEM-D.J. Pullie scored a career-high 28 points to lead a big comeback as Salem rallied to beat Carrollton, 62-57, at Cabas Gynasium on Friday.
Max Wolfgang chipped in 14 points for Salem, while Andrew Dolphin had nine points and Ryan Hoover seven points.
Salem improves to 6-8 overall and 5-4 in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.
Carrollton hit six three-pointers in the first quarter to take a 25-9 lead but the Quakers stormed back to take the lead by the end of the third quarter, in large part due to Pullie’s five threes, at 42-41.
Carrollton was limited to just six points in the second quarter and hit just three three-pointers after the opening frame.
The Quakers scored 20 points in the final period to secure the victory.
Caleb Pisuik led the Warriors with 13 points. Carrollton drops to 3-10 and 2-6 NBC.
Salem also won the junior varsity game 35-31.
The Quakers jump right back into action tonight when they host West Branch.
