Unheralded Rootstown upsets Lisbon

ROOTSTOWN-Lisbon lost an eight-point fourth quarter lead and fell to Rootstown 70-65 in double-overtime on Tuesday.

Austin Rutecki had 21 points and four blocks, Josh Criag had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Josh Liberati had nine assists and four steals as the Blue Devils fall to 15-4 overall.

Also for Lisbon, Avery Andric hit three three-pointers for 15 points.

Connor Formick poured in 32 points to lead Rootstown. The Rovers picked up their third win of the year. They are seeded 13th at the Warren Division III tournament and will play second-seeded Ursuline in two weeks.

Lisbon won the jayvee game 53-36. Colin Sweeney had 22 points for Lisbon. Chandler England had 16 points for Rootstown.
